Shop, eat, crash
The last afternoon in Rome...
Of course, some shopping had to be woven into the agenda so the group took a series of cabs to one of the numerous shopping districts, this one near the Spanish Steps. Simone's heart wasn't in it but she made a half-hearted attempt, cheering up when she spotted a gelato shop that boasted oodles of flavours. True, she wasn't hungry but it was her last day in Rome and by darn it, she was going to have some gelato for the road.
A tired, hot group met up an hour or so later and wearily filed back into taxis. Nobody much felt like cooking, least of all the group's chef extraordinaire, Simone's hubby. Luckily, an Indian restaurant, nestled at the foot of the apartment building in which their apartment resided, promised a quick easy meal. On the terrace if they so wished it.
Given that there was no air conditioning in the restaurant, yes, the terrace would be sensational. They ate some very nice Indian food then trailed back upstairs.
"What?" The older teens demanded. "You guys aren't going to bed already, are you?"
"As a matter of fact," Simone replied primly, "we are. We're exhausted."
"Um, could we have the key?"
Yup. And be quiet, k?
Snore.
