Motorcycle Training

Monday morning. Hot already by 9 am as Simone drives off to the college where her motorcycle training was taking place. The air conditioning blasted the insides of the car but Simone, in her jeans, boots, long sleeved shirt and jacket sweated like a pig anyhow. She eyed the helmet on the passenger seat dubiously. Well, nothing to do about it but go forward: she'd signed up for the course. Might as well bite the bullet. First exercise of the day? Simone dropped her motorbike. Great. She also got to fill the "Hey I'm a dummy and I dropped the bike" sheet. Second exercise of the day? Simone dropped her bike. So far, the motor hadn't been turned on on any of the bikes and Simone had filled out TWO dummy sheets. Third exercise? Ride the bike at low speed then drive it back and park it. Simone panicked at the thought of parking the bike and jumped off rather than hit another bike. Yup. She got to fill out the sheet a third time. "It's okay," the instructor soothed. "You're nowhere near the record. We had someone drop their bike 32 times over the course of a weekend." Probably he meant to be reassuring.
