House painting

The problem with dogs is that when you're painting the walls of your house, the dogs are sure to rub against the wall, causing dual damage: they get covered in paint AND the paint gets streaked. So Simone resolutely put the dogs in the backyard for the day, hoping for a set of dry walls by the end of the afternoon. It was a beautiful, sunny day and the temperature was decidedly balmy - for a dog. The puppies raced, barked, chewed and slept as puppies will.

Soon it was time for little B to come home from school. Simone put the dogs on their leashes and walked them to the bus stop. When the group returned, Simone put the dogs straight back outside along with their dinner. The dogs gave her a look of disbelief interrupted by their hunger, for they dove into their food with gusto.

Meanwhile hubby came home just as little B hugged his Mom.

"What's this?" Growled hubby. "There are marks on the walls!"

Simone hurried over and stared to no avail at the wall at dog level (ie very low since the dogs are tiny).

"And," hubby pointed out relentlessly. "There are marks on you."

Simone glanced down and was shocked to find little B handprints painted onto her shirt.

Um... Is it okay to put kids out in the backyard until the paint dries?
