World travels - Off to New Zealand!

We hit the ground running - even after 23 hours of travel! We arrived in Auckland, New Zealand at 5:45 am and by 9 am, we were on the other side of the north island, trying to check into our hotel. The owner scratched his head, embarrassed. "I'm sorry - the cleaners haven't even gone through yet. We'll do our best to get your room ready within a couple of hours." So we went on a glass bottom boat tour of the surrounding area, including Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Grove. We then had lunch, hung out at the playground and, thankfully, our room was ready by 2 pm. "Can I go to the swimming pool?" B begged. "The outdoor pool?" I asked, making a face. "Well, yeah," he said. Okay, so it may be warmer in Whitianga in November than it is in Ontario but it's still not all that balmy... "Okay, but I'm just watching."
