We made it!

Finally, after a long, long drive from NYC to Philly, Simone and hubby made it through the deserted Philadelphia streets to Simone's father's house. A superb meal awaited them, the combined culinary efforts of Simone's father and stepmother having resulted in a delicious concoction of cultures and flavours. Miraculously, in spite of having more than four hours later than anticipated, the roast was rare! Unbelievable - not to mention incredibly tasty. The trouble was that their flight out of Philly the next morning was scheduled to leave at 7 am. The group was to sleep at a hotel near the airport (more travel time) but still the alarm clock was going to ring at 4 am, so as to leave everyone enough time to get ready. By the time dinner started, they should have been at the hotel sleeping already! But life is wonderful and eventually, we all do catch up on our sleep so Simone lived every moment of that day and enjoyed the
meal. Perhaps there'd be some napping time on the plane the next day...
