Visiting Santa Claus
Little B seemed primed and ready to meet the jolly ole fellow.
"You've got your letter for Santa?" Simone asked him.
"Yes," said little B. In it, he asked Santa for the Playmobil Princess Take-Along Fantasy.
"Okay, then let's go!"
But once at the mall, little B's enthusiasm waned rapidly. He eyed the red-suited man with intense suspicion and refused point blank to go anywhere near him, never mind sit on his lap.
"What if your sister sits with you?" Simone offered.
The 12 year old shot her mother a glance full of reproach but submitted to the ordeal nonethelees. Miracle of miracles, the little guy decided to sit with Santa so long as he got to have his sister's lap between him and the North Pole resident.
Little B handed Santa his letter wordlessly.
"So," Santa tried to stir the conversation. "What did you want for Christmas, little boy?"
"A skateboard," whispered little B.
Yikes! Maybe little B'll forget his dearest wish between now and Christmas...
