Money from Grandma

Grandma sent an envelope with coins for little B.

"You can go to Tim Hortons and buy yourself a donut," she wrote on the envelope. "I love you! Grandma."

Little B was delighted by this sudden wealth! He asked to count the coins, which Simone allowed him to do, taking the time to point out all the various denominations.

Smiling to herself, Simone thought about how clever her little boy was, counting all his coins.

Seconds later, little B called to her. "Mommy! Look at this!"

Simone looked. The little guy had placed the coins between his bare toes so that a coin separated each of his toes. And to think that Simone thought she knew what coins were used for. Clearly she was mistaken.
