Leaving on a jet plane
After a lovely night in the hotel, followed by a leisurely breakfast, Simone and B got ready to head to the airport. They took the shuttle and arrived with plenty of time to get lost three times over - which, of course, Simone did.
At long last, after waiting in interminable line-ups at the check-in counter, customs and security, Simone and B finally got to the lounge.
"Look! A play area!" B cried.
"We can't stay long," Simone warned him. "Our flight boards in thirty minutes."
B hurried over, quickly discarding his shoes, as is the custom in many North American play areas.
Unfortunately, unlike North American play areas, the floor was tiled, not padded with foam. B slipped and fell back against one of the stools that stood incongruously, facing nothing, in the middle of the play area. While the stools were padded, B had the misfortune of hitting the back of his skull against the rim.
The rim was not padded. The rim had a sharp edge. B's skull split open, sending a frightening spray of blood everywhere.
Simone went to the café next to the play area and asked for ice and perhaps a cloth. They quickly provided the requested goods AND called emergency services.
Hmmmm... Do you think there's any chance of still making that flight?
