Awakening

It was bedtime and so the obligatory round of book reading began. "Did you want to pick a library book tonight?" Simone asked little B. Little B nodded enthusiastically, rifled through the week's library loans and chose "The Twelve Days of Winter" . Simone began reading, enjoying the pictures and story at least as much as little B seemed to. "Oh look," Simone pointed out after a couple of pages. "One of the boys poured glue all over the other boy's head!" Little B nodded solemnly. Obviously, glue pouring was not a nice thing to do. They turned the page. "Oh look," Simone pointed to the picture of the boy whose head had been shampooed with glue. "It looks like he had to have his hair shaved off because they couldn't get all the glue out of it." Little B's eyes widened in horror as he reflexively and very tentatively touched his hair. He probably wouldn't be pouring glue on his head any time soon...
