Money...

The 21 year old had travelled from Ottawa to spend a few days with Simone et al. He was not in a gregarious mood though; he was worried. He still did not have a summer job; the rent was due; his savings were running low. "Did you want to come work for me for a couple of days?" Simone's hubby offered, more out of kindliness than a real need for the boy's work ethic, good as it was. It would take at least a couple of days for the young man to learn the routine and he was leaving for Ottawa in three days. Nonetheless, the lure of an income was undeniable. The 21 year old readily agreed. Which meant that he had to get up at 2 in the morning in order to be ready to leave by 3 am. Since his usual routine involved getting to sleep at 3 am, a complete overhaul of his habits was necessary. To his credit, he did it. And he even managed to learn the routine in record time. Hmmm... Too bad he was leaving so soon...
