Every school day since February 14, little B has followed a routine when he gets off the bus after school. He waddles down the aisle, weighed down by his backpack, and pauses to smile at his bus driver. Then he turns around, grins at Simone and, stepping down to reach her, gives her a big hug.
"Goodbye, K!" He then says to the bus driver.
She smiles widely and says, "Goodbye," exposing her tongue jewelry of the day.
"Happy Valentine's Day!" Says little B.
K shakes her head and, beaming, adds, "Happy Valentine's Day, little B. I'll see you tomorrow!"
And then it's safe to race for home...
