Kinect

Simone wanted to get an exercise game for their game system. Hubby felt that she needed something snazzy. So he surprised her with a Kinect system and exercise program, complete with Tae Bo and Yoga.

He spent an hour setting up the system, comfortably ensconced in the couch.

The next day, Simone tried to turn on the system. She turned the television on. She turned the unit on and managed to get it to open up and say "Ah!" so she could slide in the disk. Then she couldn't manage to get the remote to work so the screen remained obstinately on the home page.

On day two of trials, Simone managed to get as far as figuring out that she needed to wave to get certain parts to get activated. She still couldn't get the game to work.

On day three, she figured out that, possibly because hubby set the machine up from the safety of the couch, the machine felt that her exercise mat should be located precisely where the couch was. Well, uh... She still didn't get to try the game out because the system needed an update already and would not let her get past the home cage (uh-huh) no matter how much she waved. And she waved a lot, feeling completely moronic since it didn't work.

Day four is today. Perhaps Simone will get a little more exercise than thirty minutes of remote clicking...
