What's that dance?

At the end of the rehearsal, all the junior and intermediate dancers gather on stage to practice for the finale. The first few bars of the music start and everyone stands still, their arms at their sides, following the instructor's directions. Everyone stands still? No. One figure stands with his arms extended to either side of his head, elbows bent at right angles and index fingers pointing up. His body waves from side to side and his arms move up and down rhythmically. After the dance, I ask B, "So what were you doing just before the dance finale started?" I ask him. He laughs. "Oh. Yeah. That was my Homer Simpson dance."
