Gently does it...

Simone stuffed one last comforter into the back of the car, took a deep breath and shut the trunk. The drive down to Toronto was a beautiful one: sunny, unseasonably warm and accident-free. But Simone was not relaxed enough to smile: in the trunk of her car rested two coffee tables, each of which had a glass top. Every bump sent a shiver of dread through Simone. Every slightly sudden stop made her shudder. She spent the hour long drive berating herself for not simply placing the tables at the end of the driveway. Simone and hubby had purchased new, smaller coffee tables for their small family room and had to get rid of the old tables. Why had she offered them to the 23 year old anyhow? So she could make herself crazy, driving two large pieces of glass down a bumpy highway to her oldest son? In the end, the glass table tops made it to the young man's apartment in one piece, as did Simone. And the tables, she had to admit, really suited the decor of the apartment. Needless to say though, the drive home was MUCH more enjoyable for Simone!
