To hang or not to hang

The deed is nearly done. The family room has become an empty space, awaiting the arrival of Simone's mother-in-law. The former dining room has been filled to nearly overflowing with couches, an entertainment centre and an ottoman. Simone and hubby have the scars to prove it. He on his forehead because the chandelier that used to hang over the dining room table now hangs over empty space and he's just too tall to avoid hitting it. They both have a swollen "ring" toe due to consistent encounters with a foot of the ottoman. The ottoman, evidently, won the battle and the war. It's not even scuffed.

Today, the movers arrive with mother-in-law's furniture. Mother-in-law cannot be far behind.

Among the many positives of this experience, the dog and three year old can no longer race around the space of the former dining room because it's way too cluttered. The tenants in the basement will thank Simone soon.

But there are three picture frames to hang and Simone has been waiting impatiently since 4 am to hang them in likely spots on the wall. Is 6 am still too early? And of course, there is still no cable in the new family room because the cable company, clearly, is incompetent. On their latest list of misdeeds, Simone called at 4:30 am to find out whether a technician would install their cable soon and the woman who answered said, "I cannot get into the system. Please call back after 6 am." She sounded as though she'd been roused from a deep sleep. Why pay for someone to answer the phone when they cannot help you when you wake them up?

... too many unanswered questions in the universe.
