Beach time (is it sunny yet?)

"Do you want to walk down to the beach?" I asked B. He gave me the "Are you kidding me or what?" glare. We packed up chairs, towels, sunscreen, camera and various sand toys and ambled down to the beach. The water was pretty darn cold and a cool wind blew the red PEI sand around. We chose a sheltered spot between two clay cliffs and played volleyball. We ambled back to the cottage around noon and made a plan: we would go to the haunted house later in the afternoon, followed by ice cream at the ice cream shop, followed by a ceidlih in Kensington. The haunted house was NOT the successful venture it had been two years prior. This time? B KNEW these mannequins were scary and he screeched and howled and ran like the wind. "Let's get out of here!" He cried, tugging on my hand. Once we got out, he begged, "Let's not ever do that again, ok?" The ice cream, other than being the size of a softball, presented no hardships and the ceidlih turned out wonderful: B even got to go onstage and perform! All in all? A very successful east coast day!
